In 1998, J. Adams & Associates Ltd. was born in a small office near Songshan Airport. As a small company consisting of five people during its initial stage, it started by tackling the most unpopular and structurally complex professional waterproof marine wear. Gradually relying on professional seam taping skill, high-tech heat-pressing technology, and high-quality products, as well as the strong partnerships established with each customer, the company has steadily achieved powerful growth. J. Adams & Associates Ltd. has since expanded its product line to various professional outdoor functional clothing, such as mountaineering gear, skiing apparel, hunting gear, fishing gear, cycling outfits, motorcycle clothing, golf attire, and more. The company has now grown into an organization with nearly 120 employees in its Taipei office and nearly 1,500 overseas staff members. This success is not based on fleeting luck but the result of over 20 years of professional expertise and steady business strategies.

Internally, J. Adams & Associates Ltd. has always been committed to improving and reforming production processes. Since its establishment, the company has successively set up large factories in Taiwan, Mainland China, and Vietnam to enhance productivity and effectively control product quality. Additionally, it has an in-house design and research & development team that independently provides design and R&D for the latest technologies, breaking free from the mold of traditional OEM factories. J. Adams & Associates Ltd. actively and enthusiastically researches more innovative production techniques and product details to increase industry competitiveness. In response to the trend of Industry 4.0, the company has also started introducing 3D drawing software to shorten the R&D process and advance with times.

Company History

2018

- The head office moved from the Neihu Technology Park on Neihu Road to the new office on Chongyang Road near the Nangang Software Park.

2017

- The inauguration of the office building at the Vietnam Grand Ocean Co., Ltd.

- The newly equipped factory is expected to accommodate up to 1,800 employees, offering more than double the production capacity.

- Introduction of the 3D clothing design system.

2016

- Completion and activation of the second factory area at Vietnam Grand Ocean Co., Ltd., with 800 employees.

2015

- The design and construction of the second factory and office building of Vietnam Grand Ocean Co., Ltd. were finalized and commenced, adopting a futuristic and more open design concept.

- The overall factory area includes a 15,000 square meter factory floor, a four-story office building, a new parking lot, and a green area.

2014

- A total of 1,100 employees are working for the company, including in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and overseas factories.

2013

- Awarded the Best Supplier of 2013 by the American customer Cabela's.

2012

- Groupama Sailing Team, led by Frank Cammas and wearing the sailing gear designed by J. Adams, won the gold medal in the competition held from 29/10/2011 to 7/7/2012.

- Established Grand Ocean Co., Ltd. in Tỉnh Hải Dương, Vietnam. Initially set up the first factory area with a floor area of 5,700 square meters, capable of accommodating 800 employees. It is also a factory with a Gore-Tex manufacturing certification.

- Huiyang Zenith Garment Enterprise Co., Ltd. moved to Huang-Hou Village, Huizhou City, Huiyang District, Guangdong.

2011

- Delivered the transoceanic sailing gear to the Groupama Sailing Team. The 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race began, with a total of 6 competing boats and a global route divided into 9 stops covering 39,270 nautical miles.

2010

- BMW Oracle Racing, wearing sailing gear made by J. Adams and commissioned by Slam, and driven by James Spithill on the USA-17 Trimaran, defeated the defending team Alingi's Alingi 5 in Valencia, Spain, winning the 33rd America's Cup with a 2:0 victory.

- Commissioned by SLAM, J. Adams finalized the design and testing of the transoceanic sailing gear customized for the Groupama Sailing Team.

- Establishment of an IT department to promote computerization and ERP implementation.

2009

- Oracle Team USA became the challenger for the America's Cup, and this year was busy finalizing, testing, and delivering the competition outfits designed and manufactured by Slam S.p.A. 

2008

- Commissioned by the Italian Slam S.p.A., began designing and manufacturing sailing gear for the 33rd America's Cup sailing competition, with the participating team being Oracle Team USA, led by Russell Coutts, and Slam S.p.A. as the sailing gear sponsor.

2007

- Established Yufeng Garment in Tỉnh Hải Dương, Vietnam

- The company's organization and work were revised once again to accommodate the command and operation of multinational corporations.

2006

- The company's personnel organization was adjusted again, simplifying the organizational hierarchy and restructuring into small workgroups.

- The production base was extended from Huizhou, Guangdong, to northern Vietnam, studying the feasibility of setting up factories.

2005

- Began collaborating with Minlan Fabric Industrial Co., Ltd. and jointly exhibiting at the Outdoor Retailer Summer/Winter Market in the United States, Outdoor Show and ISPO trade show in Germany.

2004

- In response to business development needs, new strategic partners and products were introduced, and the internal organization and personnel were restructured.

2003

- The head office moved from Minquan East Road to the new office in the Neihu Science Park on Neihu Road.

- The number of company members increased from the initial five to 25, with the expanded departments being sales and design.

2002

- Huiyang Zenith Garment Enterprise Co., Ltd. was established in Huizhou, Guangdong, China, as a factory with Gore-Tex manufacturing certification.

- Strengthened design services and introduced computerized pattern-making and marker-making systems.

2001

- Merged with Zenith Garment Manufacturing Ltd. in Kaohsiung, which was J. Adams's first factory acquired Gore-Tex manufacturing certification.

- Continued the design and concept of waterproof clothing, began developing a diversified product strategy, and expanded into various outdoor functional clothing categories.

2000

- Two years after the company's establishment, began exhibiting their own designs at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market and Winter Market.

1999

- One year after the company's establishment, gradually established a service model for designing and manufacturing for clients.

1998

- J. Adams & Associates Ltd. was officially established with a capital of 5 million Taiwanese dollars, and the office was located in Section 3, Minquan East Road, Taipei City. The company started with only five members, focusing on designing professional sailing gear and OEM services for European and American sailing brands.
